Baku played host to the annual gathering of international exhibition and conference organizers from January 16 to 18.

 

The proceedings kicked off on January 16 at Baku SMB House with the inaugural ceremony of the event titled "The Role of International Exhibitions in the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises: Government Support and Prospects Cooperation." This significant gathering was orchestrated by the Azerbaijan Exhibition Organisers Association (ASTA) in collaboration with the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBİA).

 

Subsequently, the annual assembly continued its deliberations on January 17-18 with the annual sales and marketing team meeting of the ICA Events at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

 

Marking a notable first, organizers of international exhibitions and conferences from various regional hubs congregated in the capital of Azerbaijan, renowned for its successful hosting of numerous world-class international events. The objectives of the event encompassed underlining the importance and efficacy of strategic planning for international exhibitions and conferences, furnishing comprehensive insights into the regulatory frameworks governing participation in such events, exploring potential collaborative ventures, government support initiatives for organizing exhibitions and conferences, and addressing a myriad of other pertinent issues within this domain.

 

The attendees comprised members of ASTA, along with representatives from ICA Eurasia, Caspian Event Management, Kongress Servis, Vista, Lentewenc, ITE E&C, Iteca Uzbekistan, Iteca Kazakhstan, ICA Turkiye, Iteca Caspian, and Caspian Event Organisers, representing branches in China, Kazakhstan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Poland, Great Britain, and Azerbaijan under the umbrella of the international exhibition and conference organizer ICA Group. Renowned exhibition industry expert Stephan Murtagh graced the occasion as a special guest, sharing his wealth of experience. Nearly 100 participants engaged in the event, which featured enlightening discussions on exhibition industry trends, sales strategies, among other topics led by Stephan Murtagh, alongside country presentations and stimulating quizzes.
