The 24th Kazakhstan International Exhibition for Foodstuffs, Drinks, Ingredients, Packaging, and Equipment for the Food Industry - InterFood Astana - kicked off on May 29, 2024. This three-day event welcomed 2,014 visitors from 18 countries, featuring more than 80 exhibitors from 12 countries: Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Singapore, Turkmenistan, and the Czech Republic. This edition honored the European Union pavilion as the Honorary Region, with a 40-member EU business delegation hosting extensive B2B meetings and showcasing 250 food and drink products from across the EU. Honorary guests included Aidarbek Saparov, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Janusz Wojciechowski, EU Commissioner for Agriculture. This year’s event debuted 15 manufacturers from Guizhou Province (China) and the Hungarian Export Promotion Association (HEPA).
Background:
InterFood Astana reflects the offerings of Astana’s grocery stores and supermarkets and is a significant event in Kazakhstan’s food market. This signature exhibition presents the industry’s achievements, spanning from foodstuffs to technology and manufacturing equipment. Held annually, InterFood Astana has celebrated 24 editions to date.

Business Session: The event started with a panel session titled "Export and Import in the Food Industry Market - Cooperation of Kazakhstani Companies with International Markets." Speakers provided recommendations for developing support programs for entrepreneurs, discussed strategies for exporting Kazakhstani products, and explored business expansion prospects in the food industry.
Traditions of Quality / Tasting Competition: Held on May 28, 2024, this competition aimed to identify and promote high-quality food products in the Kazakhstan market. Organized by an independent expert commission, the contest included categories such as:

Third Republican Forum: This forum featured the “Development of Pulp and Paper Industry and Packaging Industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” organized by the Association of Packers of Kazakhstan.
