EMITT 2024 sees a historical 11% Increase in international visitors and a staggering 78% increase in exhibitors 


The 27th East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) reached its highest international visitor rate of 11% in its history. This year, the exhibition hosted 653 exhibitors from 28 countries, including Germany, Bulgaria, Brazil, Egypt, Japan, Iran, Northern Cyprus, and Venezuela, among others. Additionally, the exhibition welcomed 220 VIP international buyers from 43 countries primarily from the Balkans, the Middle East and Central Asia. In total, 28,386 visitors attended the exhibition this year. 



EMITT is a prominent international travel exhibition held at Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Centre in Istanbul - Türkiye annually, attracting tourism professionals and tourists alike seeking exotic travel destinations and exhilarating travel opportunities internationally. Successfully operating for 27 years, this platform is considered one of the top five largest international travel exhibitions and provides both visitors and exhibitors with the opportunity to network and explore potentially lucrative business opportunities in the Turkish and international travel sectors.   


The EMITT 2024 Event  

The astounding success of EMITT 2024 is considered a great triumph for ICA Events as this year was another notable record-breaking year with a staggering 78% increase in the number of international exhibitors compared to the previous year. The visitor density also increased by 23%. These soaring records are testament to the importance of this platform in the international travel sector.  


As one of the largest meeting points for travel industry specialists, the conference stage sessions hosted over 50 speakers and 25 collabrations leading organizations. Sectoral Trends and Economic Forecasts, Türkiye’s Health Tourism Road Map, Tomorrow's Heritage - Cultural Richness and Sustainability, Cities and Countries Worth Exploring, Experiences Supported by Travel Technologies, Potential of Eco-Tourism: Diversity and Best Practices and Content Intelligence And Influencer Strategies In Marketing are the main topics of the EMITT 2024 Conference Programme. 


EMITT continuously appeals to thousands of international holiday consumers yearly and as such plays a pivotal role in increasing Türkiye’s touristic appeal.  


Key Highlights of EMITT 2024: 

The Presidents’ Session:  presented the 2023 Türkiye Tourism report reviewing the accomplishments and challenges of the previous year as well as delving into the expectations and forecasts for 2024, with a focus on the tourism economy. This session hosted leaders in the tourism industry e.g. 


• Erkan Yağcı - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), 

• Müberra Eresin - President of the Board of Directors of the Hotel Association of Türkiye (TÜROB),

User Trends: By 2028, the number of hotel users is expected to reach 18,650,000, with a user penetration rate of 31.3% in 2024, rising to 32.2% by 2028. The average revenue per user (ARPU) is anticipated to be US$353.70 milion.
