The Caspian region once again demonstrated its growing importance as a strategic centre for industrial development as the 23rd North Caspian Regional Atyrau Oil&Gas Exhibition and the 23rd North Caspian Regional AtyrauBuild Exhibition concluded successfully in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. 

 

Held from 8–10 April 2026, the co-located exhibitions brought together leaders from the oil and gas, petrochemical, construction and infrastructure sectors, providing an important platform for showcasing innovative technologies, strengthening international partnerships and exploring new investment opportunities across Kazakhstan and the wider Caspian region. 

 

A Growing International Platform 

 

This year’s exhibitions welcomed 2,697 professional visitors from 36 countries, while 85 exhibiting companies representing nine countries showcased the latest products, services and technologies supporting the energy, construction and industrial sectors. 

 

Reflecting the exhibitions’ continued growth and attractiveness, approximately 40% of participating companies exhibited for the first time, highlighting increasing international interest in the Caspian market. An outdoor exhibition featuring heavy machinery and specialised industrial equipment further enhanced the visitor experience. 

 

The exhibitions welcomed companies from Kazakhstan alongside international exhibitors from Germany, China, the United States and other key global markets, creating valuable opportunities for cross-border collaboration and business development. 

 

Industry Leaders Gather in Atyrau 

 

The opening ceremony welcomed senior representatives from government, industry and major international energy companies, underlining the strategic importance of the exhibitions. 

 

Among the distinguished guests were representatives from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Atyrau Regional Akimat, Tengizchevroil, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, KazService, KMG PetroChem, the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark, and the North Caspian Operating Company. 

 

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Daniyar Orynbasarov, Head of the Entrepreneurship and Industry Department of the Atyrau Region, emphasised the exhibitions’ growing international significance: 

 

“The Atyrau Oil&Gas exhibition is an important international platform that promotes the development of the oil and gas industry and strengthens business ties. It creates new opportunities for attracting investment, implementing advanced technologies and supporting production localisation within the Atyrau Region.”

Throughout the three-day event, exhibitors held meetings with government agencies, project developers, engineering companies, contractors and industrial buyers, reinforcing the exhibitions’ reputation as one of the Caspian region’s leading business networking platforms.

Alongside the exhibition, delegates participated in a comprehensive conference programme examining the key issues shaping Kazakhstan’s industrial future. 

 

The opening plenary session explored the development of the Caspian region as a major industrial hub, focusing on digital transformation, investment, petrochemical development, localisation and the creation of integrated production value chains. 

 

Industry leaders discussed how closer cooperation between upstream production, downstream processing and petrochemical manufacturing can increase value creation within Kazakhstan while strengthening international competitiveness.

A major theme throughout the exhibition was the continued development of local manufacturing and supplier capabilities. 

 

Representatives from Tengizchevroil highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kazakhstani businesses, noting that procurement from domestic suppliers reached approximately US$1.8 billion in 2025, with 71% local content achieved across its procurement activities. 

 

The company’s long-term investment in local suppliers demonstrates the significant opportunities available for businesses operating within Kazakhstan’s rapidly developing energy sector. 

 

Industry Visits Showcase Industrial Excellence 

 

The final day of the exhibition featured technical visits to enterprises within the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark Special Economic Zone, providing delegates with first-hand insight into Kazakhstan’s expanding industrial capabilities. 

 

Participants visited facilities including KPI Inc., Intago Kazakhstan and Karabatan Utility Solutions, gaining a deeper understanding of modern production technologies, advanced manufacturing processes and best practices supporting the country’s industrial development.

As Kazakhstan continues to diversify its economy and strengthen its industrial base, Atyrau Oil&Gas and AtyrauBuild remain essential platforms for driving investment, encouraging innovation and connecting local companies with international partners. 

 

The 2026 editions once again demonstrated the exhibitions’ importance in supporting the sustainable development of the oil and gas, petrochemical and construction industries while reinforcing the Caspian region’s position as one of Eurasia’s most promising industrial and investment destinations.
